Decorated Scarecrow Contest 
 

This one is a no brainer! Let’s promote the fall season throughout our region!
 

The rules are simple:  

Complete the entry form by September 30, 2008.
The form can be completed and submitted online or
printed out and faxed to 494-5807 or mailed to:

  • Decide on your category: Business or Non-profit Organization.
  • Display your Scarecrow where it can be clearly viewed from the front of your business or organization.
  • Scarecrows should be designed to best represent your business or organization.
  • Scarecrows can be made of any material.
  • Scarecrows can be any size, as long as they are visible from the street.
  • Scarecrows are to be exhibited starting October 4 and will be displayed at least through the judging.
  • Judging will be held October 9, 2008.
  • One trophy per category will be awarded.
  • The scarecrows will be judged by a representative of the Ocean County Public Affairs Department.
Participants will receive placement on our "Scarecrow Row" fall promotion flyers which will be distributed during Chowderfest Weekend and at the Chamber Office. The flyer will also be displayed on the chamber's website. Photographs of entries and business or organization names with contact information will become part of our Fall Photo Tour on the chamber's new website (to be launched in the fall of 2008).
